POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Network Operations Specialist (a group in
Corporate Data Networks) is responsible for managing and supporting the day to
day operations and service of the global Corporate Data Network (Network).
The main objective of the Network team is to provide
secure global connectivity to all RIM locations and RIM partners while
maintaining high network availability and performance using innovative
solutions.
The main objective of the Data Network Operations Team
is to manage and maintain the highly available, resilient and secure operation
of RIM's global Network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable
to ensure stable, robust, healthy operation of RIM's global corporate
networks
Responsible
for day to day network change management ensuring process and operational
methodologies are followed
Extremely
responsive to internal RIM requirements fulfilling SLA
and Incident Response expectations
Monitor
network capacity to determine its affect on performance and recommend
enhancements to meet new or changing network/business demands
Work
in concert with multiple IT teams to deliver/support complex and converged
services (VOIP, Video over IP - VIP)
Identify
and solve technical and business concerns for customers
Ensure
influence and adherence to internal programs/policies/procedures (ISO,
ITIL,BCP…)
Qualifications
University
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
Minimum
5 years of routing and switching expertise
Practical
knowledge of MPLS, QoS, BGP, EIGRP and Multicast
A
commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to anticipate
customer's needs and work to provide appropriate solutions
Results
oriented with strong time management
Ability
to develop and enhance processes, procedures and documentation
High
degree of self-motivation, self-management, initiative and
professionalism
