POSITION SUMMARY
The Configuration Management Specialist will help develop
structure and maintain Bills of material (BOM's) along with aiding in
the preparation of Engineering Change Requests and Notices (ECR's and
ECN's). They will help plan and co-ordinate the implementation intent
of the associated ECR's and ECN's giving consideration to the impact on
manufacturing and inventory.
This individual will be responsible for product configuration
including product structuring and change control procedures to ensure
accurate distribution of data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creation and maintenance of bills of materials in a Product Life Management (PLM) system
- The candidate will work on a cross-functional team with members
from Program Management, Product Management, Mechanical Engineering and
Configuration Management at Manufacturing to implement
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- The individual must have a strong understanding of bill of material
concepts and has at least 3 years experience in a Configuration
Management environment - preferably high volume manufacturing in the
electronics industry
- Excellent knowledge of Bill of Material practices
- The individual must have excellent knowledge of a new product release process and associated documentation
- Extensive knowledge of CM practices is essential and must have the ability to apply the rules of interchangeability consistently
- Familiarity with a PLM systems is required
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels
- A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently is essential
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
- Preferably experience using eMatrix PLM system
- Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Configuration Management II certificate is an asset but not essential
